Aaron Cherniak serves as Director of JPSYCH – a lab researching Jewish spirituality/religion and mental health. He is a doctoral researcher in the Attachment Research Group at Stockholm University in collaboration with IDC Herzliya’s Maytiv Center for the Research and Application of Positive Psychology. In addition to studying religious factors and mental health, his research examines social and emotional factors, especially those related to early parent-child relationships, in the development of spiritual/religious beliefs and behaviors. As a clinical psychology resident in Mayanei Hayeshua Medical Center and ordained rabbi, he advances evidence-based practice and cultural competence in the treatment of Israel’s ultra-Orthodox population.
